IRS Expands Online Account Tool
The IRS has added several new features to the online account tool first introduced in December 2015. Taxpayers may now use the tool to:
1 – view up to 18 months of tax payment history
2 – view payoff amounts and tax balances due for each tax year
3 – obtain online transcripts of individual income tax returns
4 – give feedback on their experience with the tool.
Before accessing the system, taxpayers must authenticate their identities through the rigorous Secure Access process. Taxpayers, who have registered using Secure Access for “Get Transcript Online” or “Get and IP PIN” may use their same username and password. To find out more about Secure Access, visit the IRS information page Here.
